Legal casino in Belgium: what licence B+3817 changes for you
A legal casino in Belgium does not declare itself one, it is designated. The Gaming Commission grants the right to run online games of chance, and Dragon Casino holds that right under number B+3817. Without such a number, no site is allowed to accept a stake from a Belgian player.

What makes a legal casino in Belgium
The law of 7 May 1999 bans, as a rule, any game of chance run without authorisation. Since 2011 it has allowed them online, but only for those who already operate an approved physical venue and obtain an online licence on top of it. The « + » after the letter signals exactly that: A+ for casinos, B+ for gaming arcades, F1+ for betting.
Dragon Casino belongs to the second category. In practice, this means a public body can inspect our games, our procedures and our accounts, and take that right away if the rules are not followed. It is this dependence, far more than any sales pitch, that makes the difference.
At sign-up: twenty-one, an identity, an EPIS check
You can open your account with itsme or by filling in the form. Either way, three checks take place before your first stake. Your age first: the threshold is set at 21 for casino games. Then your identity, which we must be able to establish. Finally, a look-up in the EPIS register, which lists the people excluded from gambling, at their own request or following a decision by someone else.
With itsme, your identity arrives already confirmed and everything is settled in moments. The form takes a little longer, but the rules applied are exactly the same. A site with no licence has no access to EPIS: it simply cannot know who should not be playing.
At an online casino that is legal in Belgium, deposits are capped at €200 a week
Since 20 October 2022, a royal decree has limited deposits to €200 over seven rolling days, for each licensed site. Rolling means the counter does not reset on Monday: it always looks back over the last seven days. You can lower this cap at any time from your player area, and it is the first setting worth considering if you want to keep your budget in check. It can also be raised, again from your player area, but the decision is not ours: the request goes to the Gaming Commission, which checks with the National Bank's Central Individual Credit Register that you are not in payment default.

During play: what legal gambling guarantees, and what it does not
Before a game can be offered in Belgium, it goes through a laboratory with no ties to us. The lab examines its random number generator and checks that the advertised return to player matches what the game actually pays out over time.
Neither the operator nor the player can influence how a round turns out. What the licence guarantees, then, is not that you will win, but that the rules on display are the rules that apply. When you cash out: what a legal online casino owes you
A win on a licensed site is yours, and a dispute can be taken to a Belgian authority. In return, a verification takes place before your first withdrawal: it covers your identity, your address and the bank account that will receive the money.
